As
part of our curriculum, Clover Kids participate
with residents in weekly activities ranging
from simple, supervised visits to special programs.
The benefits are readily seen in the smiles
of the residents and the ease of the children
immersed in an atmosphere where walkers and
wheelchairs are not frightening but simply a
part of everyday life.
Apart from the intergenerational
component, Clover pre-school focuses on kindergarten
readiness, incorporating play as a primary element
of learning. Art, music, and free play are combined
with more structured activities to provide a solid
foundation on which to build a successful kindergarten
experience.
When our Clover kids graduate and come
back to visit us (and many of them do!), what
they tell us they best remember, are the relationships
they built with Clover residents and staff.
